Metro Chamber Orchestra: "Concert at the Fort"

The Metro Chamber Orchestra opens its 15th season with “The Concert at the Fort” a special free concert at Brooklyn’s Fort Hamilton Theater, Friday, July 14, 2017 at 7 PM.

The Metro Chamber Orchestra, Brooklyn’s only resident professional orchestra, will pay tribute to all current military service members, their families, veterans, retired military and the civilians that support them. The program, led by Metro’s Artistic Director Phil Nuzzo, will feature selections of America’s favorite music by Copland, Sousa and many more.

The evening’s featured selection will be Aaron Copland’s “A Lincoln Portrait” narrated by Dr. Jeff Dailey. Copland, born of Russian immigrants on Washington Avenue in the Prospect Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, is arguably America’s greatest composer.

Guest artists will be mezzo soprano Victoria Rodriguez, cellist Melody Giron and a special guest appearance by Bay Ridge’s “Queen of Song” Therese Panicali.
